A prayer request from Kyle and Lisa
April has been our "medical month."
As of the moment I am writing this, I am barely over three weeks post-op on my hand. GOOD NEWS: It's doing great and the surgery appears to have been very effective. Thank you for your prayers.
As I have been recovering from my issues, Lisa has also been dealing with her own. She has continued to wife/mom/work through some significant abdominal pain. After seeking medical guidance to resolve it for the past couple of months, it has become clear that she also needs surgery. So... tomorrow (Wednesday May 1st), Lisa will have some ovarian cysts removed. The doctors do not believe anything more nefarious is happening but they will run biopsies to be sure.
Lisa and I want to thank you for loving our family so well over the years. Knowing how much you care about us, I would imagine some of you might be wanting to help. Here's how you can do that right now.
1. PRAY! That the procedure goes well, that she is able to recover and return home same day, that it works/helps, and that all biopsies return (as the doctor expects) negative for the "scary stuff."
2. Resist the urge to ask questions right now. Both towards us and even with others. We don't have any more answers or information than I'm giving you right now. Verbally rehashing the situation with folks may be emotionally straining for us right now. When we receive more information, I will send another e-blast as soon as possible.
3. Lisa's family will be with us through the weekend so we are covered on food/meals. Her parents blocked out their calendars to help us get through these toughest first few days. We eat well when they are around! If you wanted to send one the following week, feel free to reply to this email and I could give you some options that might work but don't feel obliged.
Given all this, you probably won't see Lisa around church for a bit. We hope to see her back sooner than later but we thank you in advance for giving her the time she needs to heal.
Thank you for being a wonderful church who loves their pastors well!

While I have your attention... we just put a brand new roof over the youth room on the Citron side of our campus. It was in budget so we covered it out of the general fund. However, May is going to be a big price tag of a month! If any of you feel inclined to be a bit extra generous, it will go a LONG way!
Our team is committed to continue to transform this campus into everything God wants it to be. With your help, we'll get there even sooner than expected!
