Announcing a major staff transition at City Church
Dear City Church friends and family,
There’s a famous old African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” When Lisa and I started City Church almost thirteen years ago, we hoped for staff that would go far with us. I praise God for His faithfulness in that regard. Though it is bittersweet to announce it, after almost 12 years of service on our team, Pastor Chrizle will be moving on from her role as Worship and Volunteer Pastor towards the end of August/early September.
Watch the video above to hear Chrizle discuss what is next for her and where she is going.
In light of this news, here are two things I’d like everyone who calls City Church “home” to do.
- Plan to attend Pastor Chrizle’s “Celebration of Service” party Saturday August 27th from 2-4pm. We can’t move forward as a church until we take time to celebrate what God has done! Everywhere Chrizle goes, a party usually follows. Because of that, we plan to have a big “Celebration of Service” for Pastor Chrizle on Saturday August 27th from 2-4pm as well as a special sendoff at City Church on Sunday August 28th. I hope you’ll make it a priority to attend both.
- Pray for wisdom for me, for our staff, and for our elders as we seek God’s heart for the next season at City Church. It is not my goal to “replace” Chrizle because she is truly one of a kind. Instead, I am asking the Lord to show us what is next. This will likely involve moving some roles/positions on our staff team around. Because of all this, we ask for your prayer.
We praise God for a job well done in our friend and servant of the Lord, Pastor Chrizle. We look forward to what God has in store for her and what He has in store for our church.
In Christ,
Pastor Kyle
We will miss seeing pastor Chrizle weekly good luck hope to keep in touch
Kyle,
You’re right, Chrizle is one of a kind…I will be praying for you and what God has in store for you
Pastor Kyle, what a wonderful blog you wrote. It is indeed true that God works in mysterious ways isn’t it? I plan on coming back to City Church as soon as my health lets me. God blessed me 🙏 with a wonderful power scooter.
