An update on Lisa ❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much for praying!

I can confidently state that Lisa and I felt the hand of God with us the entire day yesterday. We know that was (in large part) due to your prayer and support. We felt very loved by the many encouraging messages. Feel free to send her more of those as she recovers - they minister to her heart!

As you might imagine, yesterday started with a healthy level of trepidation that God gradually eased with supernatural peace as the day progressed. There were lots of little "nods" from God reminding us of His presence. The first one was that Lisa's pre-op nurse was named Michelle - Lisa's middle name. That was a small thing but it helped! The second God-moment was undeniable. The surgeon came out right before "go time" to rehash the plan. Right as he was about to walk away, he said "Let's have a quick word of prayer." We were blown away. He laid his hand on her shoulder and prayed for her IN JESUS' NAME for it to go well and for God to be with Lisa! We both started crying and had a renewed sense that God was with us.

After that, the medical team whisked her away and we waited. The doctor called a couple hours later to give us good news. #1. They were able to safely remove the cysts at hand. #2. The doctor said he did not see anything in there that looked nefarious. Of course, the biopsies will have the final word but it doesn't sound like anything to be concerned with. So that's really good news! We rejoice with you as you have lifted us up in prayer this week.

Once it was over, I was able to be with her in the recovery room. She was loopy but aware. She kept saying "Tell me how it went again." I probably told her 8-10 times. It was cute. After the fourth or fifth time, I wanted to spice it up and see if she was aware. So I told her they added in a special device that would make her like me more (LOL yes said that!). To which she replied: "Will it make you nicer too?" That was when I knew... she's aware and she'll be fine. Jokes aside...

As to how she is feeling, she was able to go home that same day but is (understandably) in quite a bit of pain and discomfort. She will likely not be able to do much for a month or so and will gradually resume activities. She definitely won't be well enough to attend the upcoming women's event. We're praying she'll be able to make it to Mother's Day at City Church for a very short time.

That's essentially all the information I have right now! I'll be at church on Sunday along with the kids minus Lisa.

We love you guys so much.

Hope you have a great day!
