MAJOR STAFF ROLE ANNOUNCEMENT – Executive Pastor Josh Johnson

Dear City Church,

Our team has been keeping a very exciting 2023 announcement tight to the chest for a considerable amount of time. The last couple times I remember feeling giddy on this scale was when Lisa and I knew she was pregnant with our babies. We are now ready to announce that City Church has officially hired Josh Johnson as our Executive Pastor! Josh has already started his first week and is quickly learning the ropes. In the video above, he shares a bit of his personal journey getting to this point.

Some of you might be wondering, what is an executive pastor? It’s a fairly standard role in most churches but it is new to us here at City Church. The job can vary slightly in different contexts but it usually revolves around the oversight/administration of the ministry’s operations, finances, facilities, and staff. Those categories give you some context for the kinds of things Josh will be doing around here.

For those of you who have been around here for a while, Josh will be assuming all of Austin’s former duties as ministry administrator. We want to thank Austin for his many years of faithful service in that role. Thankfully, Austin will continue on our team in a new capacity so he can more fully devote himself to worship ministry, creating new online content, and many other functions in the church.

We have more new stuff coming down the pipeline for 2023 that we pray will encourage your faith, keep us more engaged all week long, and build the church!
