Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1st Corinthians 13:4-8.

Read at virtually every faith-based wedding, this famous “love passage” from the Bible sets a standard that only one human being ever perfectly exemplified – Jesus Christ. Try switching out the word “love” for your name and re-reading this passage. You’ll see where you fall short pretty quickly. Change that name to Jesus and you see a beautiful picture that only Christ fulfilled. We won’t ever be perfect at living out love; but with Christ we can get better at it over the course of our lives.

love. changes. EVERYTHING.

Love is an ear when mouths have been running off. Love is a hug when there have only been crossed arms. Love is a soft or kind word in a hard conversation. Love is a thoughtful gift. Love is sitting under a tree silently with someone who is too hurt to talk. Love is holding a hand rather than pointing a finger. Love is realizing your way isn’t the only way. Love makes space for someone else’s way. Love is saying “You’re right.” Love is asking¬†“How are you?” Love is not judging a struggling friend. Love is admitting sometimes YOU are the struggling friend. Love is praying for someone. Love is asking “Other than prayer, how can I help you?” Love is a meal. Love is playing with a child. Love is letting them pick the movie. Love is making the time when you don’t have the time. Love is texting the perfect meme to that friend who is ghosting you. Love is realizing life is short. Love is finding common ground. Love is focusing on the things you can change. Love is letting go of the things can’t be. Love is seeing the big picture. Love is looking up when life weighs you down. Love is early mornings, long days, late nights, and sleepless nights.

Only God’s love is 100%. Down here…

Love is always a risk. Love can really hurt. Love can bring people together. Love can be misunderstood. Love can save a life. Love can be the best feeling ever. Love IS always the best decision ever. LOVE. CHANGES. EVERYTHING.

A little act of love can change the entire dynamic of a person’s day. Every step we take closer to love makes us look a little bit more like Jesus in 1st Corinthians 13. Show some love today.

I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.
