Einstein says, “ The value of a man resides in what he gives and not
what he is capable if receiving.” This quote resides true today in the
Church. This past Sunday, October 24th at Chain Reaction, Pastor Kyle
Steven brought the essence of this Einstein quote to life with his
message on the act of tithing.
Often a somewhat difficult subject to discuss with church members,
Kyle dove right in to address concerns and quiet questioning hearts. He
cited Luke 6:38, which begins--- “give and it will be given to you.”
Our pastor explains that various points in the Bible tells us that
if we give back to God, God will give back to us in the same measure.
Kyle says that the measure you give determines how you live.
To demonstrate this idea of getting back what we give, Kyle
brought out some scooping items that ranged from a small measuring
teaspoon, to a large shovel. Illustrating his point, Kyle showed what
it would be like to give God a little or a lot, and God returning these
amounts in kind. Kyle says that with giving 10 percent of our incomes,
He will give back to us with equal measure.
“God takes care of the people who give back to him,” Kyle relays.
Still, the young pastor tells us that God determines the ways in
which to pour back to us, and these ways may not necessarily be
financial. Nevertheless, God will give us more than we could possibly
imagine.
“The people that give are given more,” Kyle explained. “Choose a path that leads to the reward of God.”
