This
past Sunday, October 11th, City Church met again for another successful
gathering. This new church has been increasing in size each week,
bringing energy and community to its venue, Chain Reaction.
Kyle Steven began a new message on Sunday, after successfully
completing the DNA series last week. This last Sunday's series
began with a new message called "Dead Zones." By definition, dead zones
are places in our lives where we struggle to be in connection with God,
City Church's pastor explained. Kyle also referred to them as
"spiritual dead zones in our lives."
Kyle said that dead zones of the heart start when we hack God's
system, not letting God in to certain areas of our lives. We often make
these little "hacks" because we want a quick fix to our problems, and
want to remain in our comfort zones. "When we make little hacks in
God's system, there are always consequences," he said. Using the
analogy of a broken drinking glass, which had once only had a small
crack in it, he illustrated how little inconsistencies in our spiritual
lives can yield larger problems in our hearts. In further explanation,
Kyle says that dead zones of the heart leads to emotional wars inside
of people.
Still, our pastor explained that God wants to make dead hearts
alive. Kyle Steven said that God is going to give us everything we need
to do His will. "He uses hacked, cracked, and broken people to do His
will," Kyle said.
The youthful pastor brought his message to a close by reminding
his members that God wants to take us on a journey and He will free us
and bring us peace in our lives, but we need to have faith. But more
importantly, we must let God into our "dead zones."
"God's the great heart healer," he said.
