City Church Easter Service Information

Has it been a while since you've been to church?

Maybe you grew up in an environment where church was a place of guilt that your parents "made" you attend. The moment you had the freedom to choose, you opted out. Or perhaps you've really never been to a church simply because you didn't know where to go. No matter what your background is, City Church's Easter service  called "Anaheim Easter 2012" is a perfect place to start.

When is it? Sunday April 8th. There will be TWO IDENTICAL SERVICES at 9AM and 11AM.

**Krispy Kreme donuts will be available at the 9AM service to give extra incentive to come to the early service**

Where is it? Chain Reaction (located at 1652 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim CA).

What can I do to help? The biggest way you can help is by bringing a friend who doesn't go to church.

I love Easter Sunday. I love the newness. The redemption. The new life. The risen Jesus. I love the celebration and everything it represents.

This Sunday after our Easter service, not only did I leave with feelings of thankfulness because of what Jesus did on the cross, but also with an overwhelming sense of comfort.

Kyle’s message was titled “Give God Another Shot.” He talked about the fact that no matter where you are, no matter how far away you feel, no matter what you’ve done, God still loves you and He will always take you back. Kyle gave us examples of those whom Jesus visited after his resurrection. Jesus’s disciples were fearful after his death, Thomas doubted that Jesus had really risen, and Peter had even denied Jesus. Yet Jesus come to all of them, was patient with them, and called every one of them to continue to follow him. He took them back, even in the midst of their messes and disbelief.

How comforting to know that God is in the business of second chances! And third, and fourth, and sixteenth…

Hebrews 13:8 says that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

I love the fact that His character does not change. Even when my character changes, when my circumstances are a mess, when I struggle to believe, when I feel distant from him, when I push him away, He doesn’t change. He continues to love me and pursue me and will always take me back. And He will always take YOU back. No mess is too big for Him. All we have to do is be willing and give Him another shot.

Hey Friends,

To start off, I want to express how profoundly proud I am of all of you.  Last Sunday, we were really close to breaking the century mark (100 + people at church) as a church for the first time.  We didn't quite get there, but we are growing numerically, and in depth at City Church. THAT gets me excited!  Now to the note...

I have to apologize in advance to all the men in the church I am about to offend.  If you know me... you know that I absolutely can't stand college basketball.  Fans look forward to "March Madness," as it is affectionately reffered to by admirers of the sport, with tremendous excitement and anticipation.

Me on the other hand?  I dread it because television is temporarily overtaken by a sport I do not particularly enjoy watching.  Sorry for the shocker men... but the GOOD NEWS is that here at City Church, we have our own "March Madness."  I am so excited to see what March and April will bring.  Here are a few exciting things coming up...

• Sunday, February 28th - Generation MEdia (new series) kickoff + Guest worship leader Natalie Nicoles.
• Sunday, March 21st - Baptism service immediately after church (TBD) + BBQ.
• Saturday, March 27th - Trip to Tijuana orphanage. Email Katie MacLeod if you are interested.
• March 28th - Mark Mohr (lead singer for Christafari) will give the message!  HERE is a recent article/interview with Mark.
• April 2nd - Good Friday Service @ Chain Reaction. You will NOT want to miss this night believe me.
• April 4th - Easter!!!! I am praying for a huge morning on Easter.
